  • A minimum number of participants is required for an activity to go ahead; there is also a cap on the number of pupils accepted per activity, per day.
  • Pupils may change activity a maximum of 3 times during the year.
  • If fees have not been paid before the activities begin, the registered pupil will not be able to take part.

ARRANGEMENTS AND ORGANISATION:

  • Reception (GS): every Reception activity is always supervised by 2 staff members. The ASEM (teaching assistant) will collect the children from their classrooms at 2:45 pm and take them to the activity venue. Once the activity is over, the children are handed over to the bus nannies. For children who do not take the bus, the teachers or coaches will stay with them until their parents arrive at the gate at 4:50 pm.
  • Year 1 (CP): for the first 2 weeks, pupils will be accompanied from their classroom by school nannies. After that, each activity leader will take their group of pupils to the relevant room. From the 3rd week onwards, pupils make their own way to the designated meeting point. Staff will be on hand to help if needed.
  • For Year 2 to Year 6 (CE1–CM2): pupils make their own way to the meeting point, where the register will be taken (their teachers will give them instructions beforehand). Each activity leader will then take their group of pupils to the relevant room. Once the activity is over, the leaders bring the pupils to the gate to meet their parents. Pupils who take the bus wait at the designated meeting point before heading to the buses. Staff will be on hand to help if needed.

Blast Pods, Mini Golf, Ninja Class

A multi-sport activity running throughout the year, with a different activity each term: taekwondo, golf and sensory development, to support motor skills, coordination and early development in Reception (Grande Section) pupils.

Frenchies Club – Multi-Sport Discovery Program

Every week, children rotate between three dynamic activities — Ninja Class, Golf, and Blast Pods — each designed to build coordination, balance, precision and confidence through movement and play.

1. Ninja Class
A dynamic obstacle-course activity blending Taekwondo, Karate and Judo with climbing, jumping, balance, agility and kicks. Children develop strength, coordination, body awareness, lateralization (learning to use both their right and left side equally) and confidence, all while having fun through varied physical challenges.
Why it’s useful: Children learn to control their body, balance, move with confidence and adapt their movements to different challenges.

2. Golf
A fun introduction to golf focusing on the basics of putting and swing technique, coordination and concentration. Children develop body control, precision and patience while learning a new sport in a supportive environment.
Why it’s useful: Children learn to adjust how much force they use, control their movements and improve their sense of distance and precision.

3. Blast Pods
An interactive and energetic activity combining movement, reaction and coordination through fun challenges using light-up electronic pods. Children develop their agility, concentration, hand-eye coordination and reaction speed while staying active and engaged.
Why it’s useful: Children learn to react quickly, control their movements and coordinate what they see with how they move.

Your Coaches
Frenchies Club is led by two French coaches, both graduates of UFR STAPS Nice (Sports Science Faculty).
Charles Chevalley, 27, 3rd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, trained at the Kukkiwon in Seoul (World Taekwondo Headquarters), STAPS degree, 3-time French Kick Boxing Champion with several international titles.
Baptiste Bruckert, 27, holds a Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Activity and Health.
A passionate, experienced team dedicated to your children’s development.

Chess

The king of games and the game of kings, a martial art for the mind… more than just a fun pastime, chess has been shown to improve children’s concentration and academic results. Studies indicate that children are better able to grasp concepts and develop stronger memory, cognitive, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Through our “chess club” activity, we teach the art of the game with lessons on strategic and tactical concepts and principles, helping children reach a good level in this sport and, above all, have fun doing so.

French Language Support

The aim of this activity is “to strengthen French language learning”.
It is mainly intended for pupils who speak little or no French at home, or not enough.
Limited use of the language leads to weaknesses in comprehension, reading and vocabulary acquisition. This in turn often leads to a lack of self-confidence and a fear of speaking in front of classmates.
With this in mind, and in order to support pupils in a reassuring environment (since all pupils in this activity share the same situation), these support sessions are run in a fun and varied way around a specific theme each week: Ancient Rome, the Egypt of the Pharaohs, vocabulary for emotions, vocabulary for the weather…:

1- Introduction to the theme and immersion, followed by questions and discussion with the pupils to start bringing in the vocabulary that will be used and to encourage exchanges between pupils.

2- Watching a video on the session’s theme to develop listening comprehension. The video is paused along the way so that pupils can discuss what they see and notice, describe the images and make predictions about what will happen next as the video progresses.

3- A range of activities around the topic: short comprehension quizzes, putting the story back in order using pictures and matching sentences or words (cut-and-paste), crosswords, group games, drawings accompanied by a short piece of writing….

Drama

Drama helps children assert themselves, build self-confidence and interact better with the world around them.

Fancy doing drama — but why?

  • To meet great people and make new friends
  • To overcome shyness and gain self-confidence
  • To step into someone else’s shoes and become another person
  • To have fun and laugh
  • To train your memory, which will help you at school
  • To create a play, use your imagination and improvise
  • To get up on stage and be applauded
