Organisation of the school day – changes from September 2026
For several years, the same question has come up again and again in our discussions, in school board meetings, in parents’ meetings and in feedback from our teams: how can we better organise school time so that it is more balanced, more effective and better suited to life in Dubai? The answer is in this video, following an exemplary collective effort.
Changing the school timetable is not simply a matter of rearranging the hours. It is about improving the quality of the time our whole community spends together. It is about strengthening students’ learning. It is about supporting their well-being. And it is about giving our school days greater meaning.
Key features of the new organisation
- 50-minute lessons;
- Lessons end at 14:50 or 15:00 from Monday to Thursday for all primary pupils (élémentaire, ALE and ALM) and all lower secondary (collège) students not enrolled in a section;
- Lessons end at 11:30 on Fridays;
- The school day starts 10 minutes earlier than in 2025, to ease traffic flow;
- Better-adapted break times for everyone;
- Lessons end at 16:55 for section students (once a week) and for some upper secondary (lycée) classes, including lycée options;
- After-school activities from 15:00 to 16:55.
