Parent Representatives

Parents are full members of the school community.
Trusting and consistently constructive dialogue between all school staff and parents is key to every child’s success and well-being.
This commitment to shared responsibility for education (co-education), mutual listening and concerted action is a priority for AFLEC.

In practice, this partnership operates at several levels:

  • At individual level, dialogue between a student’s family and the school staff responsible for the child takes place through regular meetings (start-of-year meeting, individual meetings at the end of each term, etc.). On a day-to-day basis, teachers, the pastoral and attendance team (vie scolaire), the nurses and doctors, the inclusion team for students with special educational needs, the IT department, and the administrative and leadership teams are all available to you. We therefore encourage every parent or guardian to make an appointment using the details provided in the contact section;
  • At class level, class parent representatives are a key link between the parents of the class, the class teachers and the school leadership. They attend class councils in secondary, from Year 7 (6ème) to Year 13 (Terminale);
  • At cycle level, APELFI parent liaisons meet regularly with the Head of Nursery (Maternelle), the Head of Primary (Élémentaire), the Principal (Proviseur) and the CPE/Deputy Principal to discuss how things are running and, where necessary, identify improvements together;
  • At school level, parents are full members of the governing bodies through their representatives. They are consulted, heard and take part in the school’s major decisions (see the “Governing bodies” section);
  • Beyond this, APELFI (the LFI Parents’ Association) runs many projects for students in partnership with the school (dedicated page).
