2025-2026 school year:

Registration for the school transport service is now open.

If you would like to register your child(ren) for the bus service, please log in to the parent portal using the username and password sent to you by SMS.

Please follow the steps below:

By submitting a registration request, you agree to the school transport terms of use and, in particular, you undertake to pay for the service on time.

To submit a registration request, log in to the parent portal and fill in your address precisely: select your neighbourhood, pin your home on the map, and complete the address with the street name and building number.

Depending on the number of registration requests, the transport department will confirm either that a bus route is being opened in your neighbourhood or that you have been placed on a waiting list.

Registration is valid only for the address on record. In accordance with the regulations, any change of address must be notified at least one month in advance. The transport department reserves the right to terminate the contract, without refund, if no bus place is available at your new address.

Yamin KHRAIS, Head of the School Transport Service

Bus Committee

The school’s leadership set up a Bus Committee in November 2014 on the Oud Metha campus, at the initiative of APELFI (the LFI Parents’ Association). It meets every month and brings together members of the school leadership, the head of the transport service and parent representatives. The aim is to work together to improve the performance of the service.

Pupils must remain seated throughout the journey with their seatbelt fastened and adjusted to their size. The front rows are reserved as a priority for nursery-age children (maternelle). Pupils under the age of 12 are not allowed to sit next to the driver. Pupils must not disturb the driver, distract the driver’s attention in any way, or put safety at risk. Touching door handles, locks or door-opening mechanisms before the vehicle has stopped is forbidden. Parents are responsible for their children between home and the bus stop until the vehicle leaves in the morning, and from the moment the vehicle arrives in the afternoon. Primary pupils are handed over, on leaving the bus, to the person authorised by the parents. If that person is not present, the pupil is taken back to the school or to the transport company’s head office.

Pupils must remain calm and behave courteously. They must follow the instructions of the bus assistant. Shouting, spitting, eating, pushing or fighting, throwing anything, and putting feet on the seats are forbidden. Damaging equipment, and carrying or handling dangerous objects such as knives or scissors, are also forbidden. Parents are liable for any damage caused inside the bus.

The transport department does its best to meet every request and to cover as much of Dubai as possible:

Neighbourhoods with 16 to 24 pupils have a dedicated bus. The route is planned as efficiently as possible by the transport department to optimise pick-up, travel and drop-off times for all pupils. The target duration for the whole journey is under 70 minutes. Pick-up and drop-off follow the same order: the first pupil picked up is the first dropped off.

For neighbourhoods with more than 24 pupils, waiting lists may apply until an additional bus is introduced.

Where several neighbourhoods with fewer than 16 pupils each are close to one another, a multi-neighbourhood bus may be set up:

  • With longer pick-up and drop-off times,
  • With a route and a pick-up and drop-off order tailored to optimise travel times for all pupils on the bus,
  • Provided that the bus can always complete the round trip in under 70 minutes

For isolated neighbourhoods with fewer than 16 pupils, meeting points may be arranged on request along the route of a bus that still has seats available. Alternatively, families are invited to make their own private arrangements.

The transport department assigns pupils to buses. Routes, stops and timetables are planned as efficiently as possible by the transport department to optimise pick-up, travel and drop-off times for all pupils. Bus assignments and routes may be changed by the transport department during the year in order to optimise all bus routes overall, particularly when registrations and addresses change. In addition, the driver and/or the assistant may change during the year.

Morning bus times depend on the neighbourhood. They are planned as precisely as possible and communicated at the start of the year. In the afternoon, the bus car park gate is open from 2:25 pm to 2:40 pm and from 4:25 pm to 4:40 pm. Buses leave the school between 2:50 pm and 3:00 pm for the first run and between 4:50 pm and 5:00 pm for the second. The third run departs between 6:00 pm and 6:10 pm from the administration gate. In the morning, parents are asked to make sure their children are ready at the pick-up point 3-5 minutes early. Buses arrive at and leave pick-up points on time and cannot wait more than 2 minutes for late pupils. In the afternoon,

Primary pupils (nursery and elementary) will only get off the bus in the presence of their parent or the person they have authorised. This person must be available to collect the pupil at the bus’s usual arrival time. If the bus is early or late, the bus assistant will notify the person responsible for collecting the pupil. If this person is not there when the bus arrives, the assistant will notify the parents and the bus will wait for a maximum of 2 minutes. After that, the pupil will be taken back to school, where the parents may collect them, or they may take the next bus. If no one is available to collect the pupil on the bus’s last run, the pupil will be taken to the transport company’s head office, where the parents will need to collect them.

Secondary pupils (Collège and Lycée) must be able to get into their home on their own and must not delay the bus.

The bus service will not wait for any pupil who is late, whether in the morning or the afternoon. Any pupil who delays the bus in the morning, on departure from school or on the return home may be excluded from the bus service. Please note: A. Bus journey times can under no circumstances be compared:

From one neighbourhood to another, owing to very specific traffic conditions,

From one year to the next, owing to changes in the number of pupils registered in a neighbourhood,

With the same journey made by private car:

  • In line with regulations, the maximum speed for buses is 80km/h,
  • Picking up all the pupils on a bus takes 30 minutes on average (route and average duration of each stop),
  • The buses cannot all arrive at school at the same time / at the last minute: the target average arrival time is 7:25-7:50 am.

B. After a 2-week settling-in period at the start of the year, nursery pupils (maternelle) who take the bus leave class at 2:10 pm, are collected at 2:20 pm by the bus assistants in the air-conditioned gym, and board their bus at around 2:20-2:30 pm, i.e. 1 to 2 minutes before the gates open for the older pupils. Full buses depart from 2:45 pm.

If a pupil is not taking the bus, parents must inform the teacher / the vie scolaire (pupil welfare office) and the transport department as early as possible in writing at bus.lfi@aflec-fr.org or bus.lfimudon@aflec-fr.org, giving the child’s surname, first name, class and bus number. No requests by telephone will be accepted. This notice must be given at least one working day in advance for the morning pick-up, and before midday for the afternoon return. Changes of address must be notified at least one month in advance. Where a change of address involves a change of neighbourhood, the transport department reserves the right to terminate the contract, without refund, if no bus place is available in that neighbourhood.

Registration is confirmed for the full year. Each term is payable in full in advance. Any term that has begun is due in full, regardless of the number of journeys used. No pro rata will be applied for early departure or for registration part-way through a term. If transport fees are not paid on time, the pupil will no longer be able to use the school transport service. Please note that giving money to the driver or the bus assistant is strictly forbidden. Any breach of this rule will result in immediate exclusion from the transport service.

Registration is for “return” journeys. A one-way option is not available.

Under the school transport charter, the bus service registration fee is AED 8,500 for the school year.

Please note: payment is made per term, as follows:

  • AED 3,400 1st term (payment due before the start of the school year)
  • AED 2,550 2nd term (payment due before 1 January)
  • AED 2,550 3rd term (payment due before 1 April)

Cancellation procedure:

Any request to cancel the bus service must be submitted before the start of the following school term. If you wish to cancel the service during a term, the full amount for that term will be charged.

Payment can be made:
1) in person at the accounts office: in cash or by cheque payable to LYCEE FRANCAIS INTERNATIONAL.
2) by bank transfer (see details below).

Proof of the bank transfer must be sent to the accounts office so that it can be recorded: comptabilite.lfi@aflec-fr.org
