AFLEC French International School AFLEC Dubai · An AFLEC network school

⚠ KHDA Registration Procedure

The KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority) is the local authority responsible for private schools in Dubai. Registering your child on the KHDA platform is compulsory and cannot be bypassed. In other words, a child cannot start at a private school in Dubai without being registered with the KHDA.

The process is straightforward, and our dedicated team is here to help you:

1- Download the document in French or in English.

2- Read page 1 carefully and complete the form on page 2.

3- Send the following to Mme Meriem DOUIRI, KHDA Relations Officer for LFI AFLEC, at khda.registration@aflec-fr.org:

  • the completed form from page 2
  • Copies of the passport and Emirates ID for:
  • the student
  • both parents
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) or leaving certificate (certificat de radiation) from the previous school (see the explanation by country on page 1)

Please note: if you do not yet have your Emirates IDs, registration can begin with copies of the passports and the TC. Copies of the Emirates IDs should then be sent to us as soon as you receive them.

Very important:

  • If your child holds dual nationality, the passport provided at registration determines whether they will follow Arabic lessons as ALM (Arabic as a mother tongue) or ALE (Arabic as a foreign language) – link
  • The religion declared on the KHDA form must be the same as that declared to the UAE authorities on arrival in the country.
  • A child declared as Muslim must attend religious education lessons from Nursery (maternelle) through to Year 13 (Terminale)
  • A child declared as “Christian” or “Other religion” does not take part in Islamic education lessons
