SCHOOL COUNCIL (CONSEIL D’ÉCOLE)
The School Council is chaired by the Head of Primary. It adopts the school rules on the proposal of the Head of Primary. It must be consulted for its opinion on all matters relating to the running and life of the school, in particular:
- Teaching structures
- The organisation of the school timetable and calendar
- The school project, or the primary section of the whole-school project, on the proposal of the teachers’ council (conseil des maîtres)
- Specific initiatives to ensure better use of the resources allocated to the school and good adaptation to its environment
- Conditions for the schooling of children with disabilities, taking local constraints into account
- Projects and the organisation of residential school trips (classes de découverte)
- Matters relating to students’ hygiene, health and safety at school
- The principles guiding the choice of teaching materials and resources
- Matters relating to welcoming and informing parents, and the general arrangements for their participation in school life.
GOVERNING COUNCIL (CONSEIL D’ÉTABLISSEMENT)
The Governing Council is responsible for all matters relating to teaching and education at the school. It adopts:
- The whole-school project, on the proposal of the School Council and the Secondary Council
- The school rules, after consultation with the preparatory bodies (School Council and Secondary Council)
- School hours
- The annual careers and guidance education plan
The Governing Council gives its opinion on:
- Proposed changes to teaching structures and the composition of classes
- Educational projects
- The programme of cultural and sporting activities
- Matters relating to welcoming and informing parents, and the general arrangements for their participation in school life
- The scheduling and funding of school trips
- The organisation of student life
PEDAGOGICAL COUNCIL / CYCLE COUNCIL
The Pedagogical Council sets the school’s teaching policy.
SECONDARY COUNCIL / STANDING COMMITTEE
The Secondary Council is made up of 15 members and prepares the work of the Governing Council.
