Weightings (coefficients) for the new baccalauréat – 2023 session (for students in Year 12 (Première) in 2021-2022):

For this year’s Year 12 students (sitting the baccalauréat in 2023), the Bac result will be made up as follows:

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT = 40%

• Average of the common core subjects in Year 12 (Première) and Year 13 (Terminale) for the following subjects:
• EPS (Physical Education): coefficient 6 (Terminale annual average of continuous assessment in class (CCF))
• Scientific Education (Enseignement Scientifique): coefficient 3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• Modern Language A (LVA): coefficient 3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• Modern Language B (LVB): coefficient 3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• History-Geography: coefficient 3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• Moral and Civic Education (EMC): coefficient 1 (1ère) + coefficient 1 (Terminale)
• Overall average for the specialism dropped at the end of Première: coefficient 8

FINAL EXAMINATIONS for compulsory subjects = 60%

• Early French examinations in 1ère: written coefficient 5 + oral coefficient 5
• Grand Oral: coefficient 10
• Philosophy: coefficient 8
• Specialism 1: coefficient 16
• Specialism 2: coefficient 16

For this year’s Year 12 students (who will sit the American OIB Bac in 2023), the baccalauréat will be calculated as follows:

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT: coefficient 28

• Annual average for Première and Terminale in the following subjects:
• EPS: coefficient 6 (3 in 1ère and 3 for the annual CCF average in Terminale)
• Scientific Education: coefficient 6 (3 in 1ère + 3 in Terminale)
• LVB: coefficient 6 (3 in 1ère + 3 in Terminale)

As a transitional measure, for Terminale students in the 2022 session, the weightings are calculated as follows:

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT = 40%

• Overall average of Première school reports across all subjects – coefficient 5
• Average of the common core in Première and Terminale for the following subjects:
• EPS: coefficient 5 (Terminale annual CCF average).
• Scientific Education: coefficient 2.5 (1ère) + coefficient 2.5 (Terminale)
• LVA: coefficient 3.3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• LVB: coefficient 3.3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• History-Geography: coefficient 3.3 (1ère) + coefficient 3 (Terminale)
• EMC: coefficient 1 (Terminale)
• Overall average for the specialism dropped at the end of Première: coefficient 5
